Sometimes, we humans forget that we are part of Nature. We exploit its resources to improve our quality of life, just as every other living organism does. However, over the past few centuries, we have gone too far we now dominate the planet with little respect for other species, both animals and plants.

This reckless exploitation of natural resources is starting to reveal its consequences.
Sooner or later, we will be forced to reconnect with Nature.

The goal of my research is to develop bio-based composite materials that can offer properties as similar as possible to those of the synthetic products we are used to. This way, we can maintain our lifestyle without harming the ecosystem.

In particular, tannin extracts are abundantly available phenolic substances that can react in a similar way to phenol to produce reliable polymers (plastics or more precisely, bioplastics).

That is exactly what I am trying to achieve!
