Chemical characterization of leather-fibre panels

Wood fibres combined with industrial leather shaving waste produce are interesting composite materials which are characterized by its outstanding fire resistance. The optimization of the components has allowed to prepare a panel with good mechanical and combustion resistance properties. The GC-MS investigation of the chemistry of this engineered material has allowed to understand the mechanism occurring during burning.
